The Key: Escape From Strongwall Prison:
Get ready to solve the hardest case yet in the Key series and help solve an unbelievable prison break challenge. In the newest installment, The Key: Escape from Strong Wall Prison, three well-known criminals from previous The Key cases are back on the run! How is this even possible?
This case is a real head scratcher as players must rely on more than their intuition. Everything will need to be investigated, such as clues about escape routes, laundry carts, hiding places, and gang affiliations. On the game cards, even the most subtle changes to the piles of laundry must be looked at as well as following the navigation route on the map.
In the end, every bit of information is worth nothing without the gangs’ contacts. But who is in which gang and who is lying and about whom? Only the correct number code or key puts these three dangerous gang bosses back behind bars.
Mystery fans will need to successfully outsmart the culprits using skill, tactics, and a good nose for clues. The trickiest case in The Key series for true investigative pros. This simultaneous deduction game offers high replayability options and a unique solution check using our key mechanism.
Designed for 1-4 players with a solo variant. Suitable for ages 12+. Plays in about 45 minutes. Made in Germany.
My experience: I love the idea of a subscription box for a different board game either monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly. Board games are still a great way to have fun without a screen! This specific game does require your full focus and attention (it's not Chutes and Ladders!) My 10-year-old said it was too hard, watched for a little while, and then disappeared. I know the box says it was for 12 and older. My 14-year-old got into it, but I think it was better for her brain than my still recovering from long Covid brain fog brain. She needs to play it with her friends. Next time I'd request a game that our whole family could play that would be more brainless and just fun. If you like a challenge and a mystery to solve - this one is great! As a teenager, I would have loved this game! But after working all day, I'm ready for just "go-fish" instead of being a detective sorting a bunch of clues.
I also think it would be great if this company could loan these games like a library, and if you like the game, you go ahead and purchase a new copy for your family.
