Expanded Hours, Holiday Fun at the Science Mill Science museum offers family activities and shopping!
Dec. 3, 2020—Johnson City, TX—This holiday season, deck the halls with science! The Science Mill in Johnson City will be open with expanded dates from December 17 to December 31 to give families more time to play (closed Dec. 24 + 25 and Jan. 1).
Visitors can explore 50+ interactive exhibits, inside and outdoors, including the newly updated Banana Piano (which relies on the human body’s ability to conduct small amounts of electricity) and the return of MindBall, an exhibit powered by brainwaves. Special pop-up experiences throughout the museum will include a foot-controlled video game and the Sleigh Racer Challenge, in which kids can use recycled materials to engineer and test their own sleigh on a racing route.
Visitors can also stop and shop local at the Science Mill’s gift shop for the largest selection of science toys and games in the Hill Country (open during museum hours, no admission required to shop). The Science Store is also online, and can ship anywhere in the U.S. All proceeds support this nonprofit museum’s STEM programs for Texas youth.
After the Mill closes, enjoy a self-guided driving tour of Johnson City’s Lights Spectacular displays featuring two million twinkling holiday lights (Nov. 27 through January 3; 6pm-midnight).
