A Secret of Organizers - Labels and a Label Daddy Review

I was reading an article the other day on some of the effective tools highly organized people use. Organized people are organized because they know what to use to keep things in order.
Sometimes I consider myself organized and sometimes not so much. I know that perfectionism and procrastination can be my biggest downfalls to keeping things in order.
Back to the list. One of the items on the highly organized list was something I try to use quite a bit in my own home. Labels! Organized people label everything...well most things.
I actually didn't start labeling things until a few years ago. I had this aha moment and labeled my pantry. My husband came home and was impressed and thankful. You see he couldn't find anything in the pantry because my organizing system wasn't necessarily what he would have done. You have to remember that people think differently. Where as I might organized my kind he, not being the cook, may organize by shape or size. Our pantry at the time was deep too so you had to know what was there.
So back to labeling. After moving my husband and I both thought it would be cool to label our garbage can. I don't normally think of our area as windy but after chasing the garbage lid down the hill a few times I realize it is. And since pretty much everybody has the same garbage can wouldn't it be nice to know which lid is actually yours?
Recently I got a chance to review some labels from Label Daddy.
Label Daddy sells all sort of labels for labeling everything from your camping gear to the spices in your pantry. They also have address labels for your garbage cans.
I chose to order some house address labels for our garbage cans. These are really cool. You type in your house number and that is what is on the label.
They took about a week to arrive.
The labels were shiny and felt pretty sturdy.
Not wanting to put the labels on my icky garbage can I washed it (the can) first. Then let it dry in our 100 degree weather.
The labels took some finesse to put on. At first I pulled the entire label off of it's backing and tried to put it on that way. The sticky sides blew in the wind a bit and almost stuck together. So for the next one I kept the paper on and using more of a wiping motion attached the label by peeling slowly as it was affixing to the garbage can.
I put two on. One on the lid and one on the side.
Welp! Garbage day is tomorrow! Let's see if everyone knows who's garbage can this is!
