Discover Engineering

Discover the amazing world of engineering! Meet dozens of professional engineers from local firms “geared” up with hands-on engineering activities for children. Engage your brain and conquer fun challenges, discover interesting jobs, meet high school robotics teams, enjoy special science demonstrations and gather fun give-aways during this STEM-tastic day!
Included with Museum admission: $10 Public, Free for Members and all children ages 1 and younger. Sponsored by Parker Hannifin, the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers – Rockford Chapter, and the Illinois Space Grant Consortium.
Discovery Town

Take the family to Discovery Town…a temporary exhibition at Discovery Center Museum back by popular demand. Discovery Town is a friendly little town with a focus on fun!
Discovery Town is bustling with kid power! This child-size interconnected city is designed for children to learn how the world works and engaging their imaginations. Make-believe comes to life with real-world places – each a familiar, themed-space where children learn by role-playing the adults they encounter in their lives. Each business or space is complete with costumes, props and entertaining tasks.
