"My family has participated at The Urban Farm in a variety of ways for several years, and I can easily say that TUF has been an important enrichment to our lives. My kids have attended summer camps twice when they were in kindergarten and first grade. At those camps my son discovered a love of animals and then decided to enroll in the weekly program that allows him to go and care for his favorite animals throughout the year. Those programs have been an important source of identity for my son for 3+ years, he sees himself as a chicken lover as one of his core traits. Additionally, our family has a garden plot in the community garden. Working in the garden is grounding, soul-satisfying, and a great source of delicious healthy produce. All of these resources are so amazing because we are not able to keep pets or livestock at home and our yard is too small for substantial gardening. "This is a wonderful place to visit especially with children. You can interact with the farm animals if the staff allow it, and you can buy fresh eggs. They have events as well as the option to celebrate a birthday (and get a more interactive experience). There is also a playground for the children. Friendly place and only $5/person to visit." "Our family has loved being a part of the monthly events at The Urban Farm. Our kids have participated in the Poultry Club and have gained so many new skills, and most importantly confidence. They have learned how to care for the animals and have developed the ability to confidently present and share their knowledge about their chickens.

The staff is all fantastic. They really care about the animals but they also all seem to have backgrounds in working with kids.

We also love how accessible the farm is, right in the heart of the neighborhood, making it easy for families to stay connected to agriculture, animals, and hands-on learning.
