Clyfford Still and Denver Art museums partner to bring Art Crawl: A Tour for Infants and Their Caregivers to The Kirkland  Art Crawl program offers infants and their caregivers opportunities to experience art, connect and learn together

The Denver Art Museum (DAM) will host its first-ever family-focused Art Crawl: A Tour for Infants and Their Caregivers in collaboration with the Clyfford Still Museum to celebrate welcoming all ages of visitors to The Kirkland. 

The Kirkland merged with the DAM in October 2024 and as of June 2025, is fully aligned with matching hours, bilingual text and access for all ages. Previously, The Kirkland was only open for visitors 13 years and older. 

The Kirkland brings to life 150 years of artistic innovation, offering visitors of all ages an immersive journey through international decorative arts, Colorado’s rich artistic heritage and the visionary work of artist Vance Kirkland (1904–1981).? The Kirkland building and collections are now part of the DAM. 

As of June 2025, The Kirkland now welcomes visitors of all ages into the museum. The DAM felt like this was a perfect opportunity to partner with their neighbor museum, the Clyfford Still, which offers research-backed, award-winning infant programs. Art Crawl is designed to offer infants (newborns through 14 months) and their caregivers an opportunity to experience art, build relationships and learn together.

DETAILS: Surrounded by The Kirkland's abundant collection and the expertise of Clyfford Still’s Learning and Engagement team, museum educators will lead participants through the galleries and provide prompts based on art exploration. Guides will encourage an interactive discussion on the importance of introducing babies to art at an early age and tips for experiencing art together. Everyone will be encouraged to let infants explore, following their lead and observing what draws their attention.
