October is the ideal time for exploration! Fall foliage lingers, the temperatures are perfection, and the summer crowds have subsided. The slower pace allows us to accomplish overdue tasks, set new goals, reset routines, and relax. October can be sunny and warm or crisp with dustings of snow. We can find ourselves reaching for our heavy sweaters and baking or soaking in the sun on a long bike ride. October is every season in one, often dubbed the ‘secret season’, a month that everyone can find something to enjoy!
Aspen Film's flagship event is not to be missed. The festival starts in September and continues into the few days of October. The festival is known for "showcasing narrative and documentary features, a dynamic mix of award-worthy fall previews, and acclaimed independent films from the international festival circuit". Locals and visitors who attend Filmfest can count themselves fortunate to often be among the first in the country to see films. October line up includes, EMPIRE OF LIGHT, GOD'S CREATURES, CLOSE, TRIANGLE OF SADNESS, a suprise screening on Sunday, October 2 and more.
