  • The Scarborough Renaissance Festival is known for its vibrant atmosphere and historical reenactments. Performers play a crucial role in bringing the festival to life by portraying characters from the Renaissance era, such as knights, jesters, and royalty. Their interactive performances, including jousting matches engage visitors and immerse them in the historical setting. Through their dedication and talent, these performers create an authentic and entertaining experience for attendees. During the festival, visitors can see jousting tournaments, craft demonstrations, and performances by birds of prey, sword swallowers, musicians, and acrobats. In addition to traditional turkey legs, sausage on a stick, and mead, the festival offers a wide selection of food and drink options. Guests can enjoy Renaissance-style roasted nuts. For those with a sweet tooth, the festival serves delightful treats like funnel cakes and ice cream. There are also themed beverages, including specialty ales all adding to the historical charm. Visitors can also enjoy unique entertainment options. Additionally, attendees can watch skills such as blacksmithing, glassblowing, and weaving, providing a hands-on experience of the Renaissance era. There are plenty of activities designed specifically for children. There are rides and activities specifically geared for children.
