Blog:As We Walk Along the Road
We recently headed down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for our annual "fall" visit. We have a week at the beach each September, and it's a great time to go because schools are back in session, and we have the fun attractions all to ourselves. We are always looking to try new attractions, and this year we wanted to head to the Hollywood Wax Museum at Broadway at the Beach. I've posted about this site before, and I and my oldest have visited it. But it was several years ago, and the whole family had never had the chance to tour the museum.
About the Hollywood Wax Museum
The Hollywood Wax Museum has three main areas- the actual wax museum, filled with wax figures of celebrities and interactive exhibits; Hannah's Maze of Mirrors, a fun mirror maze; and Outbreak- Dread the Undead, a scary tour of a lab filled with "zombies." You can purchase individual tickets or get an All Access Pass to visit all three. (My readers can get $2 off of an All Access Pass!)
Why Should Your Family Visit the Museum?
If you're looking for family fun and something to do next time you're at Myrtle Beach, the Hollywood Wax Museum is a fun choice.
~ There are celebrities from way back, like James Dean and the original Star Trek crew, and more modern celebrities that the kids recognized, like Lady Gaga. The whole family can find celebrities to take pictures with.
~ There are interactive exhibits, not just wax figures. Do you think your kids might not enjoy just walking around looking at figures? Don't worry. Many of the figures have props nearby, so you can pose for pictures with them. And there are other interactive stops throughout the museum- like the laser maze that we spent a long time trying and trying to better our personal times.
~ Besides the wax museum tour, you can enjoy the scary Outbreak- Dread the Undead and challenging Hannah's Mirror Maze with an all access pass. Our whole family went through both. I was easily terrifies in the Outbreak area, and we lost a child in Hannah's Mirror Maze, but we thoroughly enjoyed both!
