There are many classic stories that we all grow up with. One of these is the Three Little Pigs. Now you have the opportunity to play it as a game thanks to Tactic Games! This cute little game is a very simple process of "building" your various houses with a lucky roll of the die. If you roll a wolf, you get the chance to blow down your opponents' houses with the included plastic Big Bad Wolf. The wolf has an opening in his mouth area and expels a burst of air with each squeeze. If you blow down their house, they have to start back over with straw.
The Big Bad Wolf has an opening in his mouth area and expels a burst of air with each squeeze. This wolf was the only frustrating part of this game. It will have you huffing and puffing! I think younger kids (the 3-5 range) would most have fun with simply making the wolf blow, but kids older than that may get irritated by how hard it can be to get a good gust of air. It seemed completely ineffective unless a pig had been placed in his home. (You have to roll a pig to place your pig.) I suspect many kids will often find entertainment just practicing with this wolf outside of game time. ;)
The pieces are all solidly made of heavy, coated cardboard. The die is a decent weight, but you do need to apply the stickers yourself. The wolf is a substantial size and made of sturdy but flexible plastic.
Overall, it's a fun game for young kids. They suggest an age of four and up. I honestly believe a child as young as three would love this game... just be aware of and careful with your child handling the die as it would pose a choking hazard at that age. A larger die would have been better to open the gameplay up to a younger fan base.
Pros: Simple gameplay. Great for little kids. Made well.
Cons: The wolf.
Follow the three little pigs on their adventures as they build their houses and hope to avoid the huffing and puffing, Big Bad Wolf, just like in the well-known fairytale. The Three Little Pigs game combines skill and a dash of luck. Kids will love the soft and squeezable Big, Bad Wolf that actually huffs and puffs the pigs' houses down! ($14.99)
