Disclosure: I was provided with free registration forBritish Soccer Campfor purposes of review. All opinions are my own. This has been one of the hottest June weeks in South Carolina in years. Temperatures over 100 degrees every day. This was the week my granddaughter was enrolled in soccer camp. Sunday afternoon sitting on the porch in 100 degrees, she was rolling her eyes at us and complaining about the heat as we talked about getting ready to start soccer camp on Monday morning. I must have told my son 50 times - "Make sure she has enough water." "There are bottles of Gatorade in the garage refrigerator." Make sure her hair gets tied up tight so it isn't stuck all over her face in the heat." "Make sure she has enough water." over and over again! My husband played soccer all throughout his school years. My son played soccer all throughout his school years. Because of this they both assume my granddaughter should play soccer. I wasn't so sure - although beautiful she is slightly lacking in the area of coordination (under-statement of the year!) My son has been playing soccer with her for a couple of years. Her interest in soccer I thought was only because it was something her and my son do together - kicking the ball around and having fun.
Challenger Sports' British Soccer Camp is the most popular soccer camp in the country. Knowledgeable Challenger coaches each year help coach youth soccer throughout the US. Most of the coaches come from the United Kingdom and Ireland and travel the country teaching and staying with host families in the area. The patience they show with these young soccer players is amazing. The camp covered a wide range of ages - from 6 to 14 and the kids are separated into their age groups for learning. The groups were small and the individual attention to each child is one of the things I noticed almost immediately. Each child is recognized by name by the second day and their questions answered in terms they can understand. At the end of the week, family was invited to watch what the kids have learned and each child was presented with an evaluation and certificate. Each child is also given a soccer ball and t-shirt.Overall, you couldn't ask for a better soccer program for your child. The coaches are wonderful, all having a great amount of knowledge and the ability to share it on a level with the children that makes it fun at the same time they are learning about the sport. This was the perfect way to start the summer!British Soccer Camp is the most popular camp in North America - 150,000 campers! With an innovative curriculum that develops skills, speed and confidence in players ages 3-18, British Soccer Camps provide boys and girls with the rare opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international expert's right in the heart of their own community. In addition to teaching new skills and improving game performance, each British Soccer Camp provides lessons in character development, cultural education and is the most fun your child can have learning the sport they love!
